Stuck on it.

Hello world.

I'm sorry for not having any new excerpts recently. This blog is supposed to be about Ecuador, right? Haha, wrong. Because it's my creation and I can do whatever I want with it. I can't seem to go back there this week. I've set the Ecuador stuff down for a bit, because it is the past... and I should really be thinking about my future.

I was in an odd phase of life while I was in Ecuador. It seems that I am currently in another odd place. I don't know what I'll be doing a year from now, six months from now-- shoot, I don't even know what I'll be doing tomorrow. I do know that somewhere in the midst of my chaotic uncertainty is an answer, or perhaps many. To some, it may seem that how I've been spending my time lately isn't wise. In my opinion, I have been utilizing my spare time to write, read, research, organize, photograph, make art, etc. I don't have much to show for myself that I want to put out on the internet, but I will share some of the photo-editing and stationary/post cards I've made recently.

Keep in mind, this is just the beginning. I am no sublime artist at the moment; rather, an artistic soul exploring her potentialities. What else are you supposed to do when you have no idea what you are supposed to be doing? I love art. I really do. I love my room mates, because they are very creative people. We have accumulated a hearty amount of art supplies, and will soon be really creating some cool stuff. I am no painter, but I enjoy it. What I do enjoy is making collages, stationary, etc.

Creativity is an awesome thing. I think after elementary school, things start to get really serious; after high school everything becomes more professional... and next thing you know, the most creative thing you've done in a while is style your hair differently. Spice things up a little bit, literally. My room mate Sean is the king of spices. We have so many different spices. Yet the food is incredible, and we have all found ourselves tinkering around in the kitchen.

I think I am going to start doing at-home projects. I want to refinish our coffee table in the living room, and make my own headboard. Art is fun, and you don't always have to be artistic to do creative things. I seriously challenge the world to get thinking. Write your ideas down. Trust me, I am full of a million bad ideas. I still get them out though, because you never know when the time has come for one of your ideas to be  that one BRILLIANT idea.

I may have become more introverted over the past few months, but the creativity is flowing. I attribute a lot of my happiness to this as well. I know these projects aren't anything extraordinary, but they represent the beginning of a more creative and resourceful self. Enjoy!

I know it's hard to tell. I took a piece of cardboard, painted it with black acrylic paint and then glued one of my photos to it.

Post card, messed it up with the blue glitter.

I made this post card with nail polish!!

This was the first one I did. I'm not very good at painting straight lines. Oh well.

A collage I made using magazine cutouts, note cards, photos, etc.

A card I made with magazine cutouts, mod-podge, and nail polish.

I photo edited the photo that I took of the above card. I thought it was cool. :)

Another card I made with a photo I did. I need to work on my handwriting!

Photo edited quote that I hung above my mirror.

A collage I have yet to complete.

An up close look. I thought it was funny.

A Zine I started and have yet to complete.

Painted post-card with black acrylic paint, cutout a photo I took of a dandelion, glued it to the postcard and went over parts with nail polish and blue glitter paint.

I hope that with trial and error, I will be able to get some better results. We shall see! Regardless, I'm having fun, enjoying life, and feeling more inspired every day. Creativity is worthwhile just for the new perspectives and outlook on ordinary things. I cannot wait for the summer time...
